Chocolate Banana Recovery Shake

Welp! It’s Thursday and it looks like it’s time for a little confession:

I’m just not a protein powder kinda girl. I have yet to find one that doesn’t upset my stomach, and to be completely honest, I would rather get all my recovery goodness from whole, natural foods. The good news is that both bananas and chocolate milk have been touted as some of the best foods to eat after long runs and hard work outs. And for good reason – they are both great sources of fast-acting carbs that stimulate muscle repair and growth in your body. Try this Chocolate Banana Recovery Shake after your next sweat session and let me know what you think!

Don’t worry – I won’t judge you if you decide to throw a little protein powder in there, too. It would probably be pretty delicious!

Chocolate Banana Recovery Shake

1 Banana

1/4 cup Oats

1/2 cup Greek yogurt

1/2 cup Coffee

1 tbsp Cocoa powder

1/2 tsp Cinnamon

1/2 tbsp Maple syrup

Ice cubes

Sea salt (optional)

Add the banana, oats, greek yogurt, coffee, cocoa powder, cinnamon and maple syrup into your blender. Throw in as many ice cubes as you want in order to get to your desired consistency (I love mine extra icy, so I used around 6 or 7). Blend until smooth, and top with a little coarse sea salt. Then revel in your post-workout bliss!

Cheers, friends!
