Mixed Berry Protein Smoothie

My favorite dessert has always been ice cream. And as a by-product, extra thick shakes and smoothies come in a close second. So when it comes to making my protein shakes, they always come out a bit thicker and a bit more smoothie-like than probably necessary. But I like them that way, darn it! They are my sort of decadent treat now-a-days. I have to warn you though – my version of a protein shake is not for everyone. Every time I make them after Jared and I go to the gym together, he adds more milk to his. But he is also likes to chug his protein shakes in 2 or 3 gulps. To each his own, you know? Feel free to alter this recipe to your liking, too! Enjoy!

Mixed Berry Smoothie Ingredients

 

Mixed Berry Protein Smoothie

1 cup frozen mixed berries

1 handful spinach

1/2 cup greek yogurt

1 cup milk

1 scoop whey protein powder (flavor of your choice, here we used chocolate)

1 tsp chia seeds (optional)

 

Throw all ingredients in your blender and blend until smooth. That easy! Until your blender starts protesting under how awesomely thick it is… 🙂
